Recently acquired a Marlin 39 (always wanted one). This little rifle was half submerged in a river cottage during hurricane Irma.
I purchased it and decided to rehab it. Thanks to a round in the chamber, the bore is fine! I really like the little rust bucket.
It shoots S,L&LR. My MARLINITIS is flaring....I put an 1895 stock on it (fits pretty good).
Just having fun with this project. Any 39D info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

The 39D came in two flavors. Early ones with the PG cap and white line spacer and later with out either of them. Which do you have?
I like mine as least as much as the Mountie. The PG being a bit more comfortable for me than the straight stock. I like the looks of a straight stock better though.

CUB,
The stock was in very poor shape; not only from the water damage but an overzealous take down attempt as well LOL!
It did not have any spacers, PG style. It had a lovely bolt and 2 crummy wood screws holding it together.
s/n 71 xxxxx. Guess it was made in 71. Perhaps was restocked.

Thanks for your info!
