Hello all:

I am relatively new to the Marlin fireams as I only have a Marlin 336SS that I just love.

My question is that I want to get a 22 to have some fun with. Most of my guns are Stainless Steel and I was wondering about the model 39A. Did it ever come in a stainless steel version?

I was also thinking about buying the ne XT-22 possibly with the Varmint barrel. In your opinion woult the XT-22 be a better shooter than the model 39A that I have heard great things about?

If you had to choose just one gun would you pick the 39A or the XT-22 or the XT-22 varmint barrel.

I am looking at getting the kids the new XT-22Y. Any opinions on that one as well.

Thanks

I don't know anything abour the XT-22, but I have never had a .22 rifle that I liked better than the 39A. The only thing wrong with it is the non adjustable trigger. Killed a lot of squirrel with them in the last 55 years!
