I understand that there is a Marlin "27" and a "27-s". My question is, does anyone know how many of each were produced? I see mostly 27-s for sale on the guns sites, but not a lot of plain "27" models. Is the 27 more rare than the 27-s?? Thanks in advance

there are no production records available for this model, but the 27 is definitely much rarer, being introduced in 1909 and the improved 27-S already advertised within the 1911 catalog (it remained in production until 1932)

Thanks for the info, thats helpful. Do you know if they continued to make the 27 along side of the 27s, or did the 27s replace the 27? I am assuming since there is not much difference, the 27s replaced the 27, and the 27 was sold until the supply dried up...
