Just checked Gun Broker; $500 is a good buy if you like the Cerakote finish.
I paid close to that for a 1979 model in 2006, and was glad to have it.
On that one I had to re-blue it, spend 3-hours scrubbing lead from the lands, and work the groove out of the finger lever which was caused by the carrier; it was causing feeding problems.
It's been a great shooter ever since.

Maybe it was just an oversight, but the 336 doesn't come in 44 magnum.
You will have to go to a short-action 1894 for that, like the top one in the photo.
