I decided to do the march silhouette match and risk my good shooting reputation
.... Well now they know the truth. Started out good rolling the first 9 pigs with the 1897 Cowboy. Missed the first four turkeys before getting the right sight picture and got 5 out the next six...
I couldn't miss in practice... ??? The rams were even worse. Kept sneaking them underneath between the legs. Sorta got back on track on the chickens ending with a 26... Oh well.
Next out came the 1894 Cowboy in 45 Colt. Thumped 8 pigs... REALLY wanted 10 but needed a 48 Colt to get the two I missed.
. Started out great on the Turkeys, rolling 5 ;D Then proceeded to miss the next 5.
Man that sucks! Shot 4 rams missed the other six high ??? Then missed the number four chicken on both arrays for a 25... CHOKE!! After that performance I'm really questioning last month's 34...
??? Still had fun though.
45 Colt (250 grain, 1100 fps) REALLY smacks the chickens. They don't fall, they FLY back to the berm.
There were some excellent performances this month. These two guys both shot 36's in the pistol caliber match and decided the match in a shoot off.
