I. GENERAL TRADING POST RULES

By using the Trading Post you agree to abide by the rules as set forth. Those who violate the Trading Post Rules will be issued infractions.

YOU MUST HAVE 25 SUBSTANTIVE POSTS TO BUY, SELL or TRADE ANYTHING ON MARLIN OWNERS. ( Hello's, welcome's and thank you's don't count.)

Due to the increase of scammers the staff has determined it is time to impose the 25 "meaningful" post rule required prior selling (WTS) on MO to include want to buy (WTB) and want to trade (WTT) listings. The purpose is to "get to know" the person buying, selling, or trading. The requirements are as follows:
* You must post at least 25 meaningful posts.
* Short one line posts do not count.
* This includes Want to Sell (WTS) and Want To Buy (WTB) and Want To Trade (WTT) listings.
Moderators will determine whether your posts meet the meaningful requirement and will take any appropriate action as needed.


This section is for NON-COMMERCIAL ADS ONLY! All transactions must comply with all applicable laws in your area. Marlinowners.com does not guarantee any transactions that take place as a result of ads posted. All transactions are between the individuals buying and selling or trading.

* A place to buy, sell, and trade OUR stuff! "NO LINKS TO EBAY, GUNBROKER OR DEALERS, PLUGS OR NOTICES, ETC."

* Listing other people's goods here is not allowed.

* No listing the same goods elsewhere on other forums, classifieds or auction sites and here at Marlin Owners. This area is subject to thread deletion without notice if the same goods are posted elsewhere.

NO spamming, no degrading posts on sales threads.

To keep the Trading Post current, all posts that have not been active for 30 days will be deleted. You may repost the item if you want.


Attend to your thread: Check on your trading post thread daily. Any thread where the OP hasn't responded to members for a period of three (3) days the thread will be closed and or deleted.


DON'T DO IT!!
* No posts will be allowed saying the item for sale can be bought cheaper somewhere else.
* No posting of a link leading to a site that specifically shows a similar item cheaper in price. A member is entitled to ask any price they wish for whatever they wish to sell.

Auctioning items is not allowed, other than in the Auction Forum.

Review all of the following carefully paying particular attention to both the buyers and sellers responsibilities.

II. RULES FOR PLACING AN AD ("FOR SALE" OR TRADE)

* The first to post "I'll take it" establishes the buyer. If there are issues and the deal falls apart, the item may be re-listed.

Your For Sale (FS) or Want to Trade (WTT) ad must include the following:
* The firearm model (if possible include the date of manufacture and description of condition)
* Your asking price for FS ads - what you are interested in receiving in trade for WTT ads.
* Shipping information: state whether shipping costs are included in the firearm price or are extra, and any FFL requirements
* One or more photo(s) of the firearm.

This means of the actual firearm you are selling.

SELLERS RESPONSIBILITIES include:
* End your FS thread with: ""The first to post "I'll take it" wins the sale. Followed with a PM to work out the details".

* Sellers are responsible to instruct buyers who PM them that the buyer must first post an "I'll take it" before the seller can honor the sale
* When a deal has been agreed to you must then make a new post/comment on your thread "sold pending funds (SPF) to (buyers user name)" - For trades state Trade has been made. For WTB ads Found will do. Or requesting to close/withdraw your ad, (YOU MUST MAKE A NEW POST/COMMENT TO YOUR THREAD, EDITING YOUR OP OR THE THREAD TITLE ONLY IS UNACCEPTABLE)

* Should the deal fall out then post "still available"

* Attend to your thread: Check on your trading post thread daily. Any thread where the OP hasn't responded to members for a period of three (3) days the thread will be closed and or deleted.

SELLERS NOTICE:
Sellers who receive payment from buyer for offered goods and do not deliver said goods will be permanently banned.

Personal Contact Information is PROHIBITED:
Personal emails and/or phone numbers are prohibited in For Sale (FS), Want To Trade (WTT) and Want To Buy (WTB) threads. It's not that mods are opposed to the seller and buyer communicating as they see fit, but in order to provide a level playing field for all members then the buyer needs to be sorted out in the thread. Consequently, for FS/WTT threads, activity must remain on the threads themselves and negotiating payment/shipping details can be handled via PM. For WTB threads, personal contact via private message (PM).
Any personal emails and /or phone numbers found in threads will be deleted.

III. RULES FOR RESPONDING TO AN AD

BUYERS RESPONSIBILITIES include:
* Post an "I'll take it" on the sellers thread -- followed by a "PM sent" for working out the details of payment and shipping.
* NOTE: A "PM sent" DOES NOT ESTABLISH THE SALE. If you want the item, post "I'll take it" and should the deal fall apart the seller can post "still available." Should you reach a negotiated price via PM then post "I'll take it per our PM(s)."


BUYERS BEWARE:
It is strongly suggested that buyers request sellers personal contact information (sellers full name, home address, phone number and email address) and validate said personal contact info before sending payment.

Pictures are required for all firearm sales...

Shipping and FFL terms are required for all firearm sales... i.e. " Shipping FFL to FFL" or "Your FFL must be able to receive from an individual".


The Trading Post Rules exist to create a level playing field for everyone to enjoy the Trading Post. Privileges to post here can be revoked for abusing the above terms.
