Will a Lyman 66LA (Marlin 336 model) fit a Winchester 94 (pre AE)? I know they have seperate models but I would like to know if they fit. If you know whether or not they fit do you also know the difference in the 66A and 66LA?

If the Winchester is drilled & tapped it should fit fine.

I just laid a 66LA up against a 94 and it looks like it would work.

My experience is that a Williams 5D for the Marlin mounted just fine on a Winchester 94. The hole spacing on the side of the receiver is the same.

Just got my new winny and yeah it fits but it isn't pretty. I guess the 66A is contoured for the Winchester and the 66LA for the Marlin. Wonder if there us anyone out there that would trade?

I'd be interested in buying it...for a suitable price. If yours is a steel base, it would bring a premium. Do a little looking at prices over on eBay. I bought an aluminum base model 66A that the seller said was a 66 LA...it was a perfect fit after a short session with a belt sander and a file.
