I got my nutmeg Ross FT in for my XS7-.308 last week. I really like the way it feels, and the fit to the action is perfect.

I'm planning on pillar bedding it, any other mods I should do?

Not the original poster! But when I bought a thumbhole for my XS it weighed 15 ozs more, not sure of the rifle and stock weight only, because I have a scope on mine.

Thanks! If you consider pesky steel plates varmints, they yes, yes I am.:)

I bought this gun for target shooting as a budget tack driver. I couldn't afford a full up precision rifle, so I thought I'd start with the XS7 and build it as I can afford to into the gun I want. Except for the broken extractor, I'm very happy with it so far. I intended to change the barrel out, but my non-Remington barrel shoots so well that I think I'll keep it for a while.

I don't know exactly how much the gun weighs. The FT is heavier than the synthetic stock, but that's a good thing for my use, and it is far from a heavy gun.
