Won't have that problem in my area of WI, guarantee it. We aren't like those idiots down south that are so up tight about trespassers and getting paid for hunting. They'll get wiped out real fast.
I live in Michigan and a few years back the DNR was spreading the message that wild pigs were on the verge of over running the state and deer, turkey, and grouse hunting would forever be changed. Being an avid deer hunter, I never saw a pig, never saw any evidence of a wild pig, never met anybody who saw one, shot one, or ever saw any news article about any pigs being harvested in Michigan. Now they are peddling Chronic Wasting Disease as the “death” the sport. Hard to have confidence in the agency these days.

I would have said same about Texans 10 years ago.
The problem is that many of these ranches are way too big. The Texas early days saw a lot of folks claiming a lot more territory than was "fair".
Now the folks that inherited these humongous ranches are being crowded by development.
There's a domino effect when some heirs sell a ranch or portion to developers. Then property taxes start increasing for the ranches on the boundaries.
Soon they can't just coast on token property taxes and they look for ways to make more money.
Hunting. More than a few have put up fences and stock exotics to hunt. Oryx are popular as well as Atlas deer.
Piggies are free and people think "bacon! ummmmm".
Well, I certainly don't speak for all of my state, but one problem down here
is most of the state is privately owned.
And, most of it is also already leased for hunting, or hunting arrangements are
already made.
i been eating them since 1990.
i don't know how best to describe it...im not that hard to please.
but if you're used to deer or beef steak you may not like it.
I assume they're like our feral pigs... without the disease worries. We cook them slow, over hot coals (on a rotisserie, and I am talking half a day or so cooking, basting as you go), make sure their cooked through, then alfoil wrapped potato etc in the coals or use camp ovens, and eat the lot with apple sauce>> excellent meal, especially for a party.
I like the idea of free range pork sausage, just wish they weren't so destructive and more people were out hunting. The ways of the hunter are becoming a bygone era and a big part of the erosion of society and culture.
