Yep it's a model 57.
Western Auto 115-2277 = Marlin 57
I' ve got on just like it. Very accurate and slick action. Somebody tell Papa John.

It's an hour's drive from me in Vandalia Illinois. I'd rather save up my shekels for a Model 39. :p
I sent a email this morning but have not heard back from them. I live a little over eight hours from their, but it's only one hour from the motherinlaw's house in Shelbyville IL.

For $70, you might wanna rethink it...

the Marlin Levermatics cycle faster than 39's...that short-throw lever is something else :)

I've got a Sears 46C (Marlin 56), and it's made me a believer!!
Wish Marlin would come back out with these...

Besides, it helps you explain to young folks the Evolution of Lever-action rifles ;)
Still no reply to my email, and I even offered them a $100 for it if they would hold it for a little while. I figured I could get my brotherinlaw could pick it up next weekend.
