Howdy. I am wanting to find load data for the 125 grn fnhp in the 30-30 winchester. I have Imr 4895, 4064, 4831, and 4350. Any good loads out there with the posted powders on hand?
Thank you.
One grain under the max of RL-7 for the 125's is the cats meow for me. I have a bunch of them loaded up but haven't quite made up my mind to go with the 125's or stick with the 150's in my 16¼ inch barreled 30-30. One inch groups at 100 yards if I do my part.
Of the ones you mentioned I'd look at IMR4895 first.
The closest thing Hodgdon Reloading | Home has to your bullet is the 130 gr. Speer, and IMR4064 seems good from their data. The Sierra manual lists 36.8 gr. maximum for IMR4895 with their 125 gr. .30-30 bullet.
I've had good results with H-322 using Sierra's "hunting" load info, if you want to invest in a pound of different powder. The load is quite accurate in my Glenfield Model 30.
I've had real good luck with AA2015 with my 130 [email protected] 32grs.
But it's not on your list, but 4895 is on your list, but I can't get that powder to shoot with the 130 Speers.
What to do, I was surprised with how well 2015 shot the lighter weight bullets. Cfe 223 works good also, except for the fire ball out the muzzle.
