I have a Ranch Dog mold for casting .411" 255gr plain base bullets for the 41Magnum that I hope to develop both plinking and hunting loads for my M1894fg and a Ruger Blackhawk. I have downloaded Ranch Dog's loads and will be trying some of them but wondered if someone already had a pet load for the carbine I could give a try. Thanks

Since I just got mine up and running I have been shooting some of my Blackhawk's favorites. 15 grains of 2400 under a LBT 250 grain WFN bullet., sized .412. It could probably go a little heavier on the charge, but until I get a better grip on the pressure differences between the carbine and the revolver, I'm not going to heavy.

I load the Cast Performance 250grn cast FN gas checked boolits for my FG, 19grn W296. If memory serves, that was the recommended starting load from CP, I don't have any reason to push it higher. I get a nominal 1660fps out of the FG. As a reference, I only get 1500fps out of the Federal Cast Core 250grn factory load.

What diameter are the bullets sized to?

Most of the CPBC for the 41mag are sized .410 - I won't say all because there might be a box of .411's floating around somewhere. LOL!

The rest of my 41mag data is with 4 5/8" Blackhawk and 5.5" Bisley Blackhawk.

I've loaded the same rounds in carbines as in handguns, for 200-220gr jacketed use AA #9 and cast plain base either Alliant 2400 or 800X. Wound up using 9 grains of 800X and 185gr or 230gr cast for pistol cartridge lever silhouette. Finally tried that powder loading with Sierra's 170grJHP, just under 1300fps out of the carbine and accurate.
