My mother in law is 96 and was a Navy Nurse in WWII. She was a recipient of one of the Honor Flights to DC a few years ago and was feted around the town. Got to meet the President and a number of dignitaries. The family was very happy for her to get to do this.

Lt. Ruth Cathcart Coughlin USN, Knoxville, TN.

Go Navy, Beat Army!!

To my recollection, my Father and Mother (both WW-II veterans) were able to visit the WW-II memorial in DC. Neither one of them much liked DC. Dad also visited the Vietnam War Memorial wall, to which there were several names of soldiers he knew as an RVN vet too.

By then Dad was pretty much infirmed, as was my Mother. But their minds were incredibly sharp and overflowing with emotions. Dad was the architect and moving force of the WW-II memorial in Doylestown, PA. That much matched the II-Corps symbol (in which he served in WW-II) is a mere coincidence...:flag:
