Has anyone used the Lee cast 310 grain GC as a plinker projectile in their .444? What loads and what kind of groups are you getting at 50 and 100 yards?

I also have the Lyman 250 SWC GC mold. Anyone use this one?

Thanks, Fred.

I just sent you a PM before I found this thread.

IMR3031 is my powder of choice for this boolit. I started at 45 gr and tested to over 50gr (there was no more room in the case). The most accurate charge in my rifle was with 46.0gr @ 1935fps. This gave me a 3 rds group of .53" (5 rds opened it up to 1.8") @ 50 yds.

I haven't played with plinking or "poodle-popper" loads yet, but others here at 444 have. I'm sure they'll hook you up.

Check out this thread too. http://www.marlinowners.com/forums/index.php/topic,57005.0.html

More like a "poodle-bonker." 9 gr of Alliant Bullseye is a great practice load with this bullet. Like Tedak, I like IMR 3031 with this bullet weight, 50.0 grains of it.

That's good, because you were the one that lead me to this combination in the first place. ;) ;D Thanks again! 8)
