Third Spring season turkey hunting session this morning, still haven't spotted a single tom or jake.
Decided to grab the SD cards on the walk back.
Possible explanation for the turkeys being elsewhere this past week....

That'll do it. A couple of years ago in Georgia I had a bob cat creep in and knock my turkey decoy completely out of the ground when it pounced. Shame bobcat season didn't run with turkey season.

Shot a cat last week. That's three this year. As we are in sheep country, we try to keep the numbers down on cats and coyotes. Having to pen ewes and lambs in lighted, protected pens at nite. A few years back was seeing 2 turkey hens with 3 poults between them. Predator counts are certainly up of late.

Yeah, this area is shot for turkeys for the season..... Scouted out a new area today, scratchings and markings look promising. Has to be better than my usual spot, now renamed Predator City.
