Hi all,
A 44-40 has been on my wishlist for decades, had a deal to good to refuse offered up by a friend recently and I ended up with a Marlin 1889 in 44wcf. Manufactured in 1891 and in shootable condition for only $375 cdn Almost forgot, full octogon barrel which I also wanted :biggrin:

Welcome and well done. Nice rifle and looks in good shape. Good bore ? There's lots of good information on handloading the .44-40 on this very forum which could be useful to you. It can be an awkward calibre to fine tune principally because the blackpowder variants were often overbore.
