Here is my almost finished 30-30 shorty "Tacticool" project. It started life as a Revelation model 200. I had the barrel and magazine tube cut down by Brockman Gunsmithing and the loop lever enlarged in the custom shape you see by our very own forum member and sponsor “Muleman”.

All I need to do is add a recoil pad and maybe some receiver mounted Williams Peep Sights. The gun is surrounded by a Marlin M39 (top) and a 336T (bottom).

This is a lite, handy rifle that I can’t wait to go shoot.

I hadn't really thought about recoil pad brand. Probably something by Pachmyer. Its more for the extra grip while in the shoulder over the plastic pad on the rifle now.

I'll probably end up getting a basic 1" ventilated pachmyer. LOP is not a concern as I've got long arms and an addition of 1" to the stock will help me out. I've got a pad cutting jig so fitting it to the stock will not be a problem either.

I can't make up my mind about the lever shape. It looks weird, but functional. But the SBL levers look kind of odd to me too. Even with my small hands, I agree the loops need to be enlarged some.

I agree that to some the lever may look weird. It does to me too. But I wanted something more unique than the normal looking enlargements. I think I achieved that. Personally even with the weird look I really, really like it. The "Dog Leg" at the bottom rear really sets the lever apart from the rest. (Watch production guns start showing up with this shape lever ;^) )

My only gripe on the larger loop levers is you have to move the levering hand farther away from you to cycle the action.
Makes sense for gloves and I really like the way they look -I just haven't seen the functionality of it yet.

Lookin' good, though!

Nice little rifle. Considering doing that to one of mine.
