Is there a forum for air rifles?

I don't see a forum for air rifles on my favorite gun spot.
Here's the deal. I bought a Beeman Sportsman RS2 .177 at a gun show a few months ago.
Of course there was no way to test the rifle at the show, but for $30 I felt it worth the gamble.
Got the rifle home and discovered that it struggles to "reset" or "cock" if you will.
It takes several "pumps" of the barrel to get the rifle to "cock" and if and when you finally do get there, the rifle is powerful and accurate.
I e-mailed Pyramid Air and they informed me they don't work on Chinese Beemans.
So, does anyone out there know air rifles, or someone willing to help me repair this rifle?
I hate to simply dispose of what I consider a viable rifle just because I cannot find someone to work on it.
Any help? Thanks, Mike

If it's a "Beeman" seems that "Beeman" should be willing to work on it, chinese made or not. How ridiculous is that?

Some years ago I picked up a pistol I bought new from a FFL pawn shop and walked out with an additional used .177 pellet rifle. The gun shoots well enough but I remember that the fools in the shop were dry firing it showing me that it worked. That's one of the 1st things the instructions tell you NOT to do with the single barrel cocking type of air rifle.

Oh man,

I agree I think if they put their name on it they need to step up.
atleast offer some advice to where and who can work on it.

What kind of a "gamble" do you expect to pay off every time? My understanding is that losing money is the most frequent result of gambling -- and you have verified that. My take is this -- it's useable now, albeit irritating as all get- out. Your choices are trash it, use it as-is and be happy to have a "powerful, accurate" air rifle for cheap, or double down on your $30 gamble and see if you can win this time by getting it fixed.

Me, I'd go Option 1 or 2...

Hardcore gamblers will go for #3 every time.
According to the thread title question ..... yes, we do have a sub-forum (stickie) for air guns. In the top of the stack in the "Rimfire" subforum.

Last I knew Pyramid Air is a retailer of airguns, you should talk to the Beeman company about work on their rifles. Also try Flying Dragon airguns, google up the url, he works on Chinese guns, and can tune it to do much better than it did from the factory. What you are describing doesn't sound like a major issue, but the idiots in the shop may have cracked a component on the piston, not allowing it to travel quite far enough. Best of luck, when tuned I've had many good Chinese springers.

I would say that the slide that helps to cock the spring and trigger may be cracked/gunked up or the main spring may be cracked/ broken.

Google or YOUTUBE will probably be a good thing to look at.

You should be able to pull it apart but be aware that the main spring is under a lot of tension so you will probably have to use something to keep that spring compressed while removing whatever is retaining it then pull everything apart and clean and inspect.
I would then look at replacing seals etc and there's a special grease you can use to reassemble the whole thing and don't use any sort of machine oil as it'll cause dieseling which will eventually bugger up everything you've done.
