Reading pages 94 through 98 of Brophy's book is very interesting. A lot of information in those pages. Here are a few.

1. March 27, 1956- Prototype Lever action shotgun was first shown in 12 guage; idea dropped. At least one was made.

2. January 5, 1956- Levermatic 12-guage shotgun in process. I wonder if a prototype was made.

3. August 11, 1949-John Gregoire presented a design of a hammerless Ballard-type rifle. What might have been. Parley

Or, October 11th, 1945, 39a's will be case hardened and blued.
Seems they had a change of heart on this one!
Those pages do make very interesting reading! Too bad they don't go back further!
