I've got a 16ga. H & R single shot Model 1908 shotgun.
It has an exposed hammer.
SN A788XXX
Left to me by my father.
Any info would be great.

The style of shotgun you have, was made by many manufacturers for many years. They are all over and 16's used to be quite common. In good condition, you should have a lot of good use in it. The shells are a little harder to find, but they are quite available.

The values are depressing, but they are competing with new ones at 100.00 or so even today.

Hang on to it, as it is a family peice and to anyone else, it's just another gun.
