Where do I start...? I am going to do some clearing of my 20+ year Marlin collection. Not only do I have firearms, but paper goods and many rare pieces that I know I will probably never see again.

My debate is, should I start with the rarest to the most common pieces, or start with my rifles?

I'm going start taking pictures of everything, get them documented and decide whether to list them here or auction them off.

I never know who's side to take when I have a debate with myself -- but I've learned a trick. I look at one thing at a time and rely on my gut for a quick response -- it I get a thumbs up -- it's a keeper or goes to the bottom of the for sale list. If I get a "I'm not sure" -- it goes to the middle. And of course, if I get a thumbs down -- it goes to the top of the list. Just trust your gut, cause you'll have those days when you wonder if you did the right thing -- and you need to be sure you heard what your gut said.

I'm also interested.

John,

Been a while, a slippery slope my friend, but personally I always seem to think that paper or marlin specific goodies are centered around a smaller
crowd than rifles are. Thus it may be easier to move guns which typically moves those items to the back of my list.

Just food.

Hope you have better luck with all the super rare catalogs and paperwork than I had. I've still got all mine, and I think I'm going to box it up and send it to Ward's Auctions, as I never could get a serious buyer for it.
Now the guns I've never had trouble selling.

Thanks for the heads-up MM93. I wondered about the paper stuff, but I'm not too overly concerned with the accessories, like the belt buckles, letter opener, key chain, button hook and watch fobs I have.

I've got several days of work ahead, now that I've really started digging in... Uuggh.. :p

I'll get there though!! 8)

I also would be interested in the catalogs. I have most from 1900 on up, but I have some holes here and there.

PM also sent.
