I'm in the market for a 336 in .35 Remington and was searching the web this morning. I came across the 336D limited edition  and now I'm in love. The sight of that rifle made my heart start beating faster.

Just going to have to be patient and see if one pops up on GB. I know it was quite some time ago and only 1000 were made, but THAT'S THE ONE I WANT.

I can help you out with that request Stubbygun. S/N seventy something in perfect shape. Do you want it with the scope, rings, and sling, or without? I'll go $760 without scope, rings, and sling. :) I'll even throw in a box of ammo.

Jake is that the factory pad on it, looks grey I thought they were black? If you look at the Davidson stainless models, the rifle cartridge rifles (336, 1895)have that big black foam pad and the 1894 pistol cartridge rifles have the thin plastic butt piece.

Own yourself a Marley Davidson 8)

Yes, its the factory pad. You'll never get the same two pictures of these stainless rifles or the laminate because they literally change colors depending on surrounding conditions. The laminate came off of another Davidson's model onto this SS-LTD. I didn't care for the pads at first but it makes it like shooting a 357 mag.

you're killin' me jake. thats the gun i want. did i read you right that you swapped wood on it? do you still have the original walnut? i like my guns original if possible. that would be a real nice mate to my 336D. i don't know if i can swing it but it would be real tempting. i've bought 3 rifles and a revolver in the past 6 months so my wife would probably flip if i spent another house payment on a gun. but then again, women are a dime a dozen and limited edition 35 guideguns are not. what to do, what to do.

The trick is to marry the right woman. Every now and again we get the urge to hit the local pawn shop, and, most every time, another Marlin comes home with us. Like today, for example. Just for the heck of it, we bought another .30-30 because we got a good deal on the price, $240. Marlinitis strikes again. Geeze, just last week, we picked up a new 336W, and I thought that would hold me longer than this. We've got the disease really bad. ;D ;D

This was Marlin #24 in our household. Some of them are exclusively Marla's.

You are right on the mark, Brian. I don't have to hide gun from my wife, in fact, she goes with me to look for them. And as you say that Marla has her own, Mary has her own stash of Marlins and a Browning shotgun.

Yup, whenever I go shopping for guns, Marla comes with me, and I make sure that she likes every one that I do buy. She even approves of the gun auctions I bid in. She likes to shoot as much as I do and to hunt as well. As soon as the new house is ready to move into, and we buy a good size freezer to put in it, I think we'll be going on a hog hunt. Marla has yet to take a nasty pig, and she really wants to take one down. She'll have to decide whether to use her previous favorite rifle, her old Ruger .44 magnum carbine, or one of her Marlins. I'd favor her .35 Remington Marlin.
