been over at the mil swiss sites....got my vetterli in and i have been working to get some rounds loaded. watched "Enemy at the gates" AGAIN....and now i'm wanting to got shoot my m91/30 at my 500yd target!
this 'hobby' is frustrating......theres a gun for every occasion
and nott enough ammo to go around!
it's been to hot to enjoy the outdoors here, but it will break soon, and i will try out a few rifles.....the vet 1st! she was a swiss import around 1900. Sears brought them into the U.S., them had smithy's cut barrels, trim the forearms, and put new sights on them. Then they sold for $7! and 100rds of ammo for $2! I guess alot of farmers etc bought them for cheap farm rifles....and throwing a 330gr bullet at 1400fps werent' to shappy power either!
Anyway, i will convert the bolt to centerfire, got buffalo arms sending some sized 348win brass to me, and a fellow forum member has already gave me some bullets....so i'm on my way!
:p it may not be a ballard, but she is just as old!

'think swiss'hahahahaha............

Sounds like a fun project! Remember, no matter how the Vet. buttstock is shaped, it's still a swiss butt!
