on my 1952 336 RC. It backs out a few turns, then stops backing out even as I turn the screw. If it IS broken, how do I remove it without damaging the barrel band or forearm? I know I can order a new screw from Brownell's, but will it fit my older 336? Thanks.

IIRC the band screws are only slightly threaded near the head not the full length of screw.
Try pushing it from the tip and turning at the same time...

Thanks Ray, I'll give it a try. It looks like the non-threaded end is not turning when I turn the screw, and it doesn't slip to the right as the screw backs out. Will a new replacement screw fit that older gun?
