I live on the Left coast of Florida. Not the West coast, the Left coast. Palm Beach County. Our county is so screwed up about guns that there isn't a single 100-yard range in the whole county. The nearest ranges that go to 100+ yards are just over an hour south, and just under an hour and a half north.K31Scout said:Where in the world do you live. Grrrrrrr............'bout the same here. Seventeen acres, 150yd range is had easy, with an earth berm I could make it 300yds. But then there is the whining neighbor 100yds down the road.1895Gunner said:You are lucky... I live on 5 acres but that isn't enough room to keep the neighbors happy when I break out the big bores so I travel. Wish I could just walk outside and shoot. Times would be great!
You know if I had enough land to shoot on, I say heck with the neighbors!DannoBoone said:Grrrrrrr............'bout the same here. Seventeen acres, 150yd range is had easy, with an earth berm I could make it 300yds. But then there is the whining neighbor 100yds down the road.
She claims that when I shoot, her house dogs go into a barking frenzy. About the time she gets them to shut-up, BLAM! And it starts all over. So I go to a range 20mi away, which ain't
always easy, instead of just going out the back door. Luv it when they are on vacation!

Palm Bch police range is open to the public usualy 2 weekends A month.
50 yd range open Sat and Sun Seperate range is 100yds Sat 200yds Sun.
Ocasionaly 300yds on sun.
You can only shoot targets. No improvised things like water jugs or clay pidgeons. Not A bad place to shoot.

The story I read said that it was originally supposed to be a public range. I'm sure it's nice, but the shortest distance you can shoot at is 50, right? I'd look funny as heck trying to do quick Mozambique drills with my Ruger LCP at 50 yards. (LOL)Gaterskiner said:The Sherriffs range has been there for about 15yrs. I don't think it was ever suposed to be A public range.
True they never got around to building the public range and probably never will.
Still it is not A bad place to shoot. Depending where you live it may be A lot closer. Lots of good folks shoot there. Why not give it A try?
