Well folks, I finally found her. After much searching on forums, in gun stores, at gun shows, and in even in a couple of antique shops, I found the 336 that will be mine. Actually, she found me. On another forum (The Outdoors Trader) I had posted a thread discussing whether or not I would be better served with a .45/70 or .30-30. After much debate and deliberation, I let it be known that the 336 in .30-30 had stolen my heart. I posted here asking you great folks what I should look for, and I want to thank you all for that advice. Y'all helped me narrow my search to the older 336's; for one with a walnut stock, no checkering, and one that Remington had been nowhere near. A fella that had been watching my ODT thread, and that I had dealt with before, sent me a PM offering up his 1990 336CS for a price I couldn't refuse. Thankfully, he is kindly holding her for me until I'm done with IP school here in San Antonio and can get back to GA to pick her up. Take a look and tell me what you think.
