In southeast Wisconsin 5 does were killed when they were struck by lightning while grazing in an open field during a strong thunderstorm a few days ago. They were reported as having stripes burned up there sides and having foamy mouths. A hole was blown into the ground something like 5x5x5 inches if I remember correctly. The land owner reported the dead deer the morning after the storm.

The sad thing is that the All Mighty DNR took the deer to be checked to see if they were poisoned. I believe they should have been processed for a food bank.
