It is a nice looking rifle. The rear stock matches my 357 CB 1894.

I would like to have it, but that price I would be afraid to use it.

I know in an auction prices get inflated, but am I missing something? I did not see any special markings or edition.
I mean this is simply a new .38-55, nothing special, even if they are not being made currently.

I was just going to post that. What am I missing? Uncheckered, nice stock, regular CB. I got mine for the opening bid price 2 years ago, I was the only bidder.

Nice wood, but I would re-bore a pot belly RC and have enough money left for another rifle. ;D

I can buy a nice antique 1893 for less then that price. To each there own,but I would never even go 1/2 that price for the rifle.

At the going rate of those guns, Mine is now for sale for $2000.00!!! ;D The only 38-55's I shoot are my 1893's-my cowboy just sits in the safe.

I was just thinking, could a cowboy be called a safe queen? Or would it be a safe king? :)

I have a not particularly rare new model S&W 625 revolver, they don't make it's barrel length anymore. Last year couple went on one of the Internet action sites for high prices-real high prices

Turned out to be a scam, somebody sold and re-sold the same gun but it never changed hands, When it did sell anybody looking at had a history of high prices paid and thought they were getting a fair price.

New Marlin 38/55's are scarce couple of friends of mine are looking hard for one. May be the same thing working

Those prices have me considering listing one of mine. but I love the 38-55 and the 336 CB. They should only get higher since no more will ever be built.
