I don't know how to do a poll here, but after a reading around the forum, I am now wondering how many people have had this problem...

There's a "post new poll" option on the far top right. I have 3 X's and none have broke..............Yet?junkyardog said:I don't know how to do a poll here, but after a reading around the forum, I am now wondering how many people have had this problem...
Ok, I know it's been a while since I posted this, but... I had my new claw break that they sent me. Can you tell me which model for Savag I should order to file and install in my Marlin?seb21051 said:Buy the Savage one, and stone or file it to size, its not that difficult . . .
If it was lacquer coated then this was most likely what was causing the cases to stick. I had a 2008 xl in 270 and never had a problem.junkyardog said:Ok, I know it's been a while since I posted this, but... I had my new claw break that they sent me. BTW, The problem I was having was involving using Russian steel case ammo. The ammo was sticking in the bore and therefore putting excessive load on the extractor when trying to remove the spent casing. I don't know why, but I did give away a three boxes of the Russian stuff to avoid future issues.
is this it?? http://www.marlinowners.com/forum/m...centerfire-rifles/70673-savage-extractor.htmlLost the extractor after 4 rounds when new. The number for the Savage extractor is Brownells #855-000-018. There is thread here on fitting it.
Never use Russian steel on a rifle made for brass, want something cheap try mil-surp NATO. I use steel only in my Saigas they have a bolt head and extractor made for the stuff.
