Hey there Jay.... -- That pin drives out from the bottom to top. It is a tight one. Get a block to set the bolt on with a relieved area for the pin to be driven into. I use a block with a couple of saw kerfs. Set it on the flat and not the rib and drive with a short stiff punch. It should come. When replacing it there is a slight taper on the leading end. It actually doesn't have to driven all the way out to remove the extractor. That is a bolt from a Winchester 1892 in the block in the picture. Guess I'll have to update the file to include a Marlin bolt!! Hope this helps. Best regards. Wind

If you have a heavy bench mounted vise put the block in it first, it helps transfer all the hammer blows force and removes a possibility of you slipping up.

Else I would recommend the block of wood to be as large as you have and set it on a good stable surface.
