So the brass is a little shorter, do I need Hornady dies for their brass, and if I get their dies, can I use them on regular brass?

You don't need Hornady dies. Loads just fine on my RCBS dies using Hornady's FTX bullets anyway. Crimped OK to.

If you buy the Hornady dies they work on short or long brass.

A REALLY head in the sand Idea - FTX gummy nose, short non standard brass - from a normally good company, but yes the Hornady dies work fine on standard non-gummy nose brass.

Owned the dies before seeing some brass from a friends hooky FTX brass and the dies easily adjusted to fit the non standard brass.

SOME dies won't adjust to fit from what I read.

Thanks, given a choice, Hornady 5 dollars more, go with them? Don't have any yet, but would like to try a assortment of bullets and brass.

Don't see any reason for the short brass. It would be a problem with unsorted brass, two different lengths. I guess Hornady had their reasons but I have no use for it.
