I bought a Glenfield Model 25 at a great price. It was a little abused, but nothing a stock refinish, a few new screws, and some cleaning couldn't fix. It was also missing a magazine. I order a magazine (a curved one) and discovered it was missing the magazine latch -- there was nothing to hold the magazine in the receiver. So I look again (actually as I'm ordering the screws) and see a different looking magazine and associated latch / spring etc.

I order it from Numrich off of this schematic:https://www.gunpartscorp.com/gun-manufacturer/marlinglenfield/rifles-marlin/25n.

...And it doesn't fit; looks like a completely different setup than what I have. I can't find any other schematic that corresponds to what I have. Unfortunately I don't have the rifle with me at the moment and don't have any pics.

This is the curved magazine I am pretty sure is the right one.

The Numrich diagram shows a straight one which I'm sure is not correct.

Help please.

Yes, the curved one with the latch button built in to the magazine is the correct one. If the one you got had a missing latch, then it was defective and should be returned for a refund.
The straight magazines fit newer models as you have found out. Don't confuse the model 25, with the model 25N. The "N" stands for "New" version that takes the new style magazine.
Just an FYI, you can find magazines a lot cheaper than where you have been getting them from.
Just do a search for Marlin magazines. The model 80, 780, Glenfield 20, and Glenfield 25, all take the same magazine. There is an online seller that has them for $11.39 right now. You will not find any correct magazines that have more than a 7 round capacity unless it is one of the original ones with the steel follower. Those will hold 8 rounds. The ones with the orange follower will only hold 7 rounds.

Thanks; I didn't buy the magazine from them, I just used that as an example.

Again, unfortunately, I don't have the rifle with me to refer to, but it had a spring release on it, there just wasn't anything for it to lock into. With your comments above, I found this:

https://www.gunpartscorp.com/gun-manufacturer/marlinglenfield/rifles-marlin/25-bolt-action

and I think I need a magazine receiver catch and a magazine receiver catch screw.

Thanks.

The receiver catch tab in the photo above is number 28 in schematic link in post number 3.
