I have always loved lever guns. My first hunting rifle was a Savage model 99 in .300 Savage. Unfortunately I lost it in a house fire. I recently decided it was time to find another lever action. Now that I live in Texas, as I grew up in SE New Mexico, there are a lot more trees so I decided on a Marlin in 44 magnum. I originally wanted one in .357 but after 6 months of searching couldn't find one. I found a retired police officer willing to pay with his like new 44 and have him $600 for it. LOVE IT!!!

Thanks, horseshoe. It was a sweet shooter and had been given to be in my grandfather's will. I've looked at a few recently at some gun shows, but people are real proud of them today.
