You have a couple of decent public ranges near you: Jay Henges and August Busch Conservation Area. There are a couple of decent Conservation Areas near you too.
You now live in the land of high humidity, low mountains, many allergies, and some of the best deer and turkey hunting in the USA! We are also one of the gun-friendliest states in the country with excellent reciprocity for concealed carry.
