Bravo47 here. As a kid, I dreamt of someday going to Maine to hunt moose with a .444 Marlin. Now that I'm older, I'm just happy to be able to use my new .45/70 1895 for deer hunting here in Ohio this year. Looking forward to learning more from this forum about the in's and out's of reloading for the 1895.

Welcome to the forum from NE Texas. I worked up in Ohio around Dover about 20 years ago and it was unuasual to me to go into a gun store and see lots of slug guns and not many rifles at all. I did see some pretty large deer coming down a big hill and they came across the road in front of me and you could see their muscles rippling as they went up the other side.
