And it is a Marlin! I just gave a guy a lot of money for a 2006 1895 CB .45-70.
If it's what he says, it has less than a box of shells through it and it's pre Rem. I am trying to get everything together to load for it, will be using two loads. A plinker over Unique and a stiffer one over 4895.
Will post pics when I get it, I'm pretty excited!

migrant hunter, welcome to the MO Family, from here in west central Mo. I got to admit you sure jumped in with both feet in getting the 1895, congrats. As to the reloading, that can be an addiction all by itself, if you haven't bought powder yet, consider Hodgdon's Universal Clays powder in place of Unique. Universal Clays is in the same burna rate class as Unique and burns very clean. Check the Hodgdon web site for reload info on the 45-70. Good luck, take care, John.
