Found a Glenfield Golden 50 30-30 in well used, hunted condition. Has a half mag tube. That’s what got my interest. I would say bluing condition is 65-75%. No pitting just surface imperfection and bluing loss. Bore looked good. Wood been refinished, but wasn’t a good job. What do you guys think it’s worth? I have never run across one with a half mag tube. I am thinking it may be a candidate for a restoration project.
275 tops, special models only hold interest to collectors if in good shape, otherwise it's just a fair condition shooter. Good material for a project gun though if the price is right.
A couple of months ago, I picked up the same (70 model) that I would say is about 85% on the bluing and had a bad "hitch" in the trigger for $290.
I have worked the trigger...now has a 5.25 pound, no creep, "glass break" trigger...it is good enough that I am not worried about going lighter.
The gun shoots really well (about 1/2 inch at 50 yards). Not bad for $290 and 45 min work with a stone.
I would say anything under $300 as long as it shoots.
