Just found one, a .30-30. Little rough cosmetically, sharp bore. Marked $349. Thoughts?

Short mag tube? I paid more for my 36, and have no regrets on paying it at all. Don't know where you are located and prices seem to vary quite a bit around the country. Where I am, missing finish and scratches in the wood along with surface rust will be on the shelf for 395 and you MIGHT get 25 off in the bargain. DP

I am in Jacksonville, FL right now and am from East TN. You never see short magazine leverguns of almost any variety here, but a .30-30 in general is a $250-300 gun at home....

$49 is half a tank of gas. You won't remember missing that in a week. DP

Think I will let it sit on the shelf at the pawn shop for a couple weeks then make a move. Already have my .35 and a Model 14 in .30 so I ain't woods gun poor by any means. Got a 1903 Springfield project in work, too.
