The dovetail for my front sight is pretty loose. Is there a way to secure the front sight or should I just buy a new ramp & sight post?

You could try a brass punch and hammer. Remove the sight from the dovetail and give the bottom of the sight a good tap with the brass punch. This creates a dent, that pushes up the surrounding metal, and usually tightens a lose sight in a dovetail.

Fix #1 Remove the site, clamp it in a soft jawed vise, use a prick punch and make many dents in the bottom. Do the same to the bottom of the slot on the bbl.

Fix #2, Remove the site, peen the round area on the top of the bbl where the sight dovetail is rounded down and will be covered by the site when re installed.

Fix #3, Remove the site, hold it on it's side peen the bottom of the dovetail, turn over and do the same to the other side.

Fix #4, Do all of the above, and JB Weld it in, to remove, site must be heated with a soldering iron prior to drifting out.
