Been struggling with jams in a NIB 2004 1894FG. I posted a couple times in the "Marlin Jams" thread about this problem. I read most everything on this board concerning "Marlin Jams" I've been using Marlins since 1954 and had never experienced a "jam". This 94FG jammed 8 times in 58 rounds fired. The cartridge entering the carrier would bind at an angle. Remove lever and bolt, clear and try again.
I disassembled down to the carrier, it had a lot of side to side play and did not stay square to the face of the magazine cartridge follower, studied it for a few days, played with it; found the slop on the carrier mounting screw. I put a 4MM wave washer on one side of the carrier to keep it centered on the follower. Reassembled. Today it went out into the tall and uncut and was used to successfully feed and fire 40 rounds.
Mission accomplished. BRAVO ZULU!! me.
