Good Evening,

I'm a new member of this forum and as of Friday a proud owner of a new Marlin 336W. I did my first complete take-down of the rifle to clean off any grease and get some oil on it. When I reassembled the weapon and cycled it a few times and noticed when the bolt is forward and the lever all the way back the bolt protrudes from the back about a millimeter and I cant remember if it was supposed to be flush or not. Also noticed a little lever slop and was wondering if anyone had any remedies for that. Thanks in advance.

Bolts don't always fit flush at the rear. The business end is the head where it contacts the cartridge brass. The bolt is adjusted so the head fits and the tails ends up "where it ends up". Post a photo for a better opinion.
