Previous years the following long guns were legal during the whitetail gun season in Ohio.
Shotguns with slugs, 410 bore to 10 ga.
Muzzleloaders 38 cal and larger
Pistols, .357" and larger OD bullets, straightwall only, no bottlenecks.
The above list is still good for this fall's deer season plus there is a limited list of straight wall (taper cases, no bottlenecks) that will be legal. 45-70, 444M, 375W, 44mag & 357mag are on the list and have driven up the prices of rifles chambered in these calibers.
