So I found a laminate stock for my plain jane 336 pistol grip and installed the buttstock with ease. The forearm isn't proving so easy. I have the 336 with two barrel bands, no forearm cap. How do I get the old forearm off and new one on?

Take off the rear barrel band (at forearm). Remove the screw and plug (and spring and follower) from the mag tube (screw at front near muzzle). Remove the front sight base so the next step will come off. Take off the front barrel band and remove the mag tube and forearm.

The forearm might be wedged or slightly tight at the receiver. Just work it gently and it will come out. I just did mine a week or so ago to refinish the wood.

Ted - That looks great. I keep thinking I'm going to do that with one of my Glenfields. You just reinforced the need.
