I am having a hard time finding much beyond the Hodgdon data section for handloads.

I only have H4895 that is on their list. I really don't want to buy any more powder.

I also have Reloader 15 and IMR3031 but there is no load data for them.

So far I have the 75gr VMAX and 85 gr sierra HP to try.

So far I have loaded up the 75 gr VMAX over 47 gr of H4895. Hope to shoot them Thursday.

Anyone have some favorite hand loads to share?

Go to the bullets web site and then to the reloading section. 4895, 3031 and R-15 are very good powders and can be used for many different loadings. They are a bit fast for the 25-06, but with the lighter bullets you should be able to find some usable loads. DP

Mine loves 3031 and 75 vmax. I think it's 47 grs but check. Sierra and Hornady had loads listed, I think. 3031 is a forgotten powder but makes my 25-06 and 243 sing with light bullets. Works very well in a 22-250.

i prefer the slower powders for the 25-06 but i know for certain that blc-2 and h4895 can do it all.

I've only tried one bullet in mine, 117 gr Sierra BTSP, I've seen no reason to change. Seated on a 52 grain max load of H4831SC and it shoots sub .5MOA out of mine. I was amazed when it shot so well the first time out on the range! Last two seasons I've primarliy use it for antelope/mule deer and the results have been four bang flops from 60 to 325 yards. It has not been fur friendly on the occasional coyote that wanders into my way!

I have to sight it in with the 75 gr VMAX over 47 gr of H4895 I loaded up. ......dang, 17 degrees.

I'll post target pictures later.

All I took to the range to site it in was 10 rounds. Barely made it. At 50 yds I am now 1" high and less than 1/2" groups. Final tweeking next week at 100 yds. That 47gr H4895 under the 75 gr VMAX is a great combo...even at 15 degrees F.
Should be around 3400 fps from Hornady's website.

my go to load is a 90grn sierra hp, over 53.5 gr of imr 4350 seated at 3.065 i believe , dont quote me on seating depth i dont have my load book in front of me now. this same powder charge over the 85 gr nosler bt is also a very accurate load, i have had some bad expieriences with this bullet on whitetail tho. i also load the 75 vmax for a friend it is over i think 49.5 gr of imr 4064.

Cattrapper, very similar load here:

Federal 210 match primer
50 grains of H4350
100 gr bullet

Please work up to this load, should generate about 3150 fps, but that varies. Hodgdon lists it as max. I've used it with Sierra, Nosler and Hornady bullets - with good results for accuracy and on varmints & coyotes. Suspect it would work just fine on deer.

For our mule deer though I've used the 100 gr Barnes TSX, with a bit more powder, and am getting 3340 fps. This was using Barnes' guidelines when they first introduced the TSX's a few years ago. If you do this - work up carefully.

Regards, Guy

The brass length is supposed to be 2.484" and with the Vmax, I have great groups at OAL length 3.14". I use the Lee crimp Die to give it a nice crimp.

DHBWA, did you happen to check the 3031 powder charge on that? You hand load that one?

On the Alliant website, 47gr Reloader 15 is a posted powder for a 87gr SP. Does 3250 fps I think.
I just loaded up some with 46gr of Rel 15 under the 90gr Sierra to try Thursday. Supposed to be 45 F then.

I can't wait for some decent weather so I can get to the range. I initially had some problems with my XL7 .25-06 when first sighting it in. There was some excess plastic from the stock smashed in between the stock and barrel. Was almost ready to turn it into a boat paddle until I found the problem! LOL After getting it figured out I was happy with Hornady factory loads using the 117 gr. SST bullets. I liked what the SST did to a big doe back in November. I have since purchased a reloading press and all the required components to load my own ammo. I found an RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme kit at Wal-Mart for $277.00!! The same kit at Midway USA is $340.00! After searching all over the internet I decided to go with IMR 4350, CCI 200 primers, Hornady brass(from the factory ammo I bought), and the 117 gr. SST bullets. I resized and prepped 20 cases. Then I started at 45 gr. and put together four rounds. I increased by .50 gr. for the next four and and increased by .50 gr. for the next four and so on until I had 20 completed rounds with the last four having 47 gr. I believe the IMR website states that the max charge for 117 bullets is 52 gr. I know I started pretty low on the charge but being a newbie to reloading I figured I'd get more experience loading and more trigger time! ;D

I haven't clocked any loads in awhile.
I am a fan of reloader 15 but not in a 25-06. I have had delayed ignition multiple times in this case. Not trying it again. Kept trying as I use it A LOT in other calibers. 3031 didn't
Exhibit this trait.
Good ol stuff!!!

I LOVE REL 15 in my 30-30. 32.5 gr under a 160gr FTX will group 1 1/2" at 100 yds.

So you like 3031 in the 25-06? What charge and what bullet?

I haven't found any load data using 3031 except for much heavier bullets...

WOW REloader 15 is amazing!
46gr under a 90gr Sierra HP and a CCI primer at 100 yds.
Almost a 3 clover leaf
