My late husband and many of our friends served in Vietnam and in other wars.

To all of the Veterans who were never thanked for their service, "Thank you."

I come from that Vietnam generation even though my late husband was 5 years older than me. I was a Nam era bride too.

I ALWAYS thanked and I still thank a Veteran even if I may not agree with the politics of the war.

May God bless all living Veterans and their loved ones. May God give the widows, widowers, etc. of ALL wars some peace too.

Sincerely,

Cate

Those of us where were there, and their families and loved ones see their faces every day.
Lawrence Binyon said it best:
“They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
we will remember them”

The title caught my eye. I was with a Marine rifle squad in Quang Nam province in June 1969 (June 19th). We were hit a couple of hours before dawn while in the hills (no grunts stayed inside the wire for long). I put three great kids (including my best friend at the time) in body bags that night--one I'll never forget.
