My extractor broke after 40 rounds on my XS7, .308. So I ordered a new extractor kit from Marlin and I received the spring, ball, extractor, and an "Extractor Pin". They charged me for all parts but the pin, it was free. Now for the life of me I can't figure out what to do with the pin. I've never seen one on an extractor, and there doesn't appear to be a place for one on the bolt head. Any ideas?

Why are they charging you for parts that should be under warranty?

Of the problems that people are having with the X guns, most seem to be related to the bolt head. Just wondering if a lack of lubrication on the bolt head may be a cause, or is it just the nature of the design. It seems as though once you get the bolt past a "break-in" period there's little trouble with the bolt heads.
