Forty bucks!! That's Awesome!! Is it a .45 or a .50? Any other markings? Barrel length?

You did a fine job on the clean up. What did you use for the steel? Wood?

Fine looking young companion you got there as well! Gotta be some good times had, and more coming with that young man.

Well.. it is a .45 cal. Barrel is 33 1/2".... I took the barrel down to white metal and polished... then dipped it in cleaner and Slow-Browned it... It didn't look right being brown, so we boiled it black.. sanded wood with 400 grit down to the stain, then used stain remover..used English Chestnut stain and poly seal.....tried to case color the side plate, but not much color..

Looking good, way to give her new life. Now take her to the range and see what you can make her do.

Yep looks real good. I like your help there too. He can go far you teaching him these kind of things.
