Hey everyone just joined the forum yesterday. I posted a picture of the Marlin i picked up last Friday. It's my first marlin and i don't know much about them. just wondering what everyone thinks.
The "W" in the s/n indicates 1963 which would be the first year of the Marauder. The RC on the bbl would normally indicate Regular Carbine which would be a different model but I suspect it was just a barrel they used for the build at the factory. Marlin did things like that. The RC may be common on the Marauder barrel, I don't really know but I'd say you have a genuine one.
That's crazy! I was just at the local range shooting my pistol and was just looking at some guns they had. I went in there back room where they used to have tons of rifles, But don't have much of anything back there anymore. There were two lever actions there and i have always wanted one. A Winchester for 500$ and the Marlin for 299$. Long story short, looks like i made the right decision. Thanks for the info guys.
