Reason for question is my looking on Auction sites for 1895s and found this 1895CB

It looks to me if someone tried to put a sling swivel stud in what would be the bullseye spot, especially since there appears to be no front swivel stud. Any opinions?

Looks to me that's exactly where they put the sling swivel, although I have no idea where they were going to put the front of the sling! Mr fixit

My 1895CB has the bullseye with the sling stud between it & the buttplate. I called Marlin & the sent me a new front barrel band that has the front sling stud mounted to it. 444 8) 8) 8)

I remember there was a short time where Marlin stopped using the bullseye. I guess it was a cost saving thing! Thanks to us here at Marlin Owners beeatchin about it Marlin started using it again!
