Great B&W classic submarine war flick. IMD 3 1/2 stars. Watched it again last night. In one scene, a Japanese aviator is shot down. He was being rescued by a sailor who was killed with a Tanto looking blade while performing in concert with the Geneva Convention. (Japan was not a signatory)

:59 min. into the movie Grant, the skipper, gives a very profound and emotional speech to the crew about how 5 year old Japanese boys are given daggers at age five and are marshal radically indoctrinated from young childhood.

It is a speech worth listening to as it is as true today as it was over 70 years ago. Should be mandatory for all Americans to listen to. Evil radicals are perpetual.

Love my old flicks!
